In psychoanalytic theory there are psychosexual stages, each associated with a specific erotogenic part of the body, and the experiences in these stages play a role in the formation of the individual's character traits. Freud (1908) noted that the connections of some character traits with certain erotogenic components can be traced; obstinacy, parsimony, and orderliness are in the service of anal eroticism. In this article, we present a theoretical summary, an anonymized history of a 7-year-old boy referred for anxiety, Rorschach and Children Apperception Test protocols, and assessment results.
