Depression during adolescence has been dynamically associated with many factors. The psychoanalytic literature shows that resurgence of oedipal conflicts and difficulty in separation from infantile objects may trigger depression in adolescence. In addition, there is a prevailing view that adolescents are prone to depression because of their narcissistic vulnerability. In this study, the relationship between depression and narcissism in late adolescence was investigated. In this context, clinical preliminary interview and projective test findings of a 21-year-old male patient diagnosed with depression were evaluated.
