  • THE LINK OF DEPENDENCY: FUNCTIONS OF PSYCHIC ECONOMY

    Summary :

It is under the notion of addiction that the article questions the role and function of the object of assumption which would play the function of an external psychic operator in the psychic economy. Based on a projective methodology (Rorschach and TAT), three axes of reading are envisaged: 1) the work of trauma via the external object: the link to the object of addiction is considered above all as a solution allowing to preserve a minimum investment limiting the impulse discharge. 2) the role of the external object which by its divided nature (good and bad) allows a work of (re)qualification of the primary sensoriality. 3) the "bodily metamorphoses" convened through the object of addiction that are established as attempts to shape the emotional experience. The destructive context of the link to the external object is questioned in its "self" dimension (self-sadistic), the body being apprehended as the only rescuable object.
