The main purpose of this study is to examine the link between learning disabilities and mental process. Altough many studies have been conducted in the area of congnitive mental process on learning difficulties, few studies have examined the effect of the inner processes on the learning disabilities. According to Klein (1930) failure to symbolisation as resulted in gaps in mental processes. Khan (1972) expresses the link between early mother-child relationship and learning difficulties by wuestioning the development of the primary narcissism and the child's individualization possibilies. Ability to seperate from the mother and individualism are essential for developing cognitive process. This study is attemping to assess, by using CAT, TAT and Rorschach, the symbolisation capacity, the early mother-chil relationship, the functioning of depressive position and the individualisation capacity of a child who has class-averaged under performance and is clinically diagnosed with a learning disability.
