    Summary :

There exists several individuals who -following a loss- start to love, to invest in the world anew. Our questioning in this work would therefore be about ?what does it make that some individuals -after having experienced a loss or a disappointment- could no longer invest in the external world like before?. So, the aim of this study is to see precisely the role of different psychical agencies of ideal -like the ego-ideal and the ideal-ego- in depressed individuals. In this paper two individuals who have been diagnosed with depression by a psychiatrist have participated in semi-directive interviews, accompanied by an interview grid which contains questions concerning ideals, love life, friends, family and dealing with loss. We witness in these two individuals a non-maturating and a very exacting ego-ideal. Thus, we may say that the demands of ego-ideal and its nature would make it very difficult to deal with loss.
