With this paper we covered ?narcissism? which Freud integrated to theory as a metapsychologic concept. Then we tried to understand how it evolved after Freud and how it has been developed throughout history by different theoreticians such as Melanie Klein, Hanna Segal, Herbert Rosenfeld, Otto Kernberg, Heinz Kohut. In this paper we take different aspects of narcissism -narcissistic defences, narcissistic discourse and negative narcissistic investment- that can be seen at Rorschach protocols. Firstly, an adolescent protocol is examined in terms of psychoanalytical adolescence theory and we discussed the narcissistic defences at this protocol in the context of theory. Later we discussed narcissistic states at borderline protocols and lastly we discussed a melancholic protocol in terms of negative narcissistic investment and narcissistic pathology.
